About Us

The Wildsights Story

Wildsights was founded in 1992 by Harvey Raven, a seasoned sailor and adventurer with a passion for nature and the environment.

After settling in Denham Harvey began exploring the fabulous landscape of Francois Peron National park and other remote local areas rich in wildlife and spectacular scenery.

Harvey and his wife Fran have been sharing their hospitality and unique knowledge of the Shark Bay and Monkey Mia region and its flora and fauna for many years now.

Wildsights Tours are regarded as a local authority on where to visit, what to see and when to go, building an international reputation for providing an outstanding scenic wildlife experience for visitors.

Their unique 4WD tours are second to none, offering an unprecedented “Love it or it’s free” guarantee. Wildsights also offer fantastic accommodation for visitors at their Beachside Villas and Beachfront units.

Supporting Research

We provide infrastructure support for Shark Bay's dolphin and dugong research teams.

We funded the entire inaugural field season of tiger shark research for the Shark Bay Ecosystem Research Project.

We also record and report significant events for the research teams e.g:

  • female dolphins with a new-born calf
  • dolphins with new shark bites
  • We were the first to alert the Parks & Wildlife Service and the research scientists of the 2012 Algal Bloom and to collect and store water samples for testing
  • Our mammal sightings are logged and provided to the WA Parks and Wildlife Service
  • We funded the the Shark Bay Ecosystem Research Project’s entire inaugural field season of tiger shark research (see scene stealers story here)
